To promote, foster and encourage the development, welfare and interest of accounting and tax professionals in the State of Florida. Promote and encourage through education programs, training, seminars and forums, to advance directly or indirectly, the cause of tax and accounting skills. Maintaining local chapters to advance the purpose and programs of the Society. Maintaining an affiliation with the National Society of Accountants in order to have a national influence. To promote the general public's understanding and appreciation of professional accountants and tax professionals and the services they render.

More About FSA Seminars
The Florida Society of Accountants has several members that have special knowledge regarding various areas of accounting and taxes. FSA is fortunate that they are willing to share their knowledge.
Lawrence Fischer, Jack Winebrenner, Roger Jacobs are working on a 1040 training course. FSA is working hard to bring this course to its members the fall of 2010.
Robert Bowers has been providing tax and accounting guidance for churches and clergy in the Ft Myers area for over seven (7) years. Bob is planning to expand his seminar in 2010.
Stephen Valentine has been a part of the PTI team for eleven (11) years bringing IRS updates to attendees.

Happy New Year and Welcome to Tax Season!!
Dear Fellow Professional,
Education is a must for all accounting and tax professionals. Education is the main objective of the Florida Society of Accountants' Mission Statement.Education is what the Florida Society of Accountants are constantly striving to bring to their members, as well as accounting and tax professionals throughout the state of Florida.
FSA just presented two excellent seminars. The 2009 Tax Preparers' Seminar and the IRS Spanish Speaking Update Seminar. Both of these seminars were great opportunities for FSA members to get tax updates and interact with IRS personnel.
Don't forget all of the education presented at the FSA chapter meetings each month! There has been a wonderful variety of subjects presented at the local level. Keep an eye on the FSA calendar for information regarding local chapter activities.
Education is a must with all of the changes taking place within the Internal Revenue Service at this time. The Florida Society of Accountants are here to help the small accounting and tax professionals throughout the state of Florida.

New York State - Department of Taxation and Finance New York State tax Preparer registration A new law requires individuals who prepare New York State income tax returns as a tax return preparer to register each year with this department. Some must also pay a registration fee. A tax preparer registration certificate and unique identifying number that you must include, along with your signature, on signed tax returns or reports. FSA 60th Anniversary Convention
The Executive Committee cuts the cake at the 60th Anniversary celebration at FSA's 2008 Convention.

As this time, three (3) organizations have been "adopted" by various chapters, members, and state.
The Sanctuary Mission is a homeless shelter located in Homossassa, Florida. The Dawn Center is an abuse shelter located in Hernando County, Florida. Toys were collected for the Help-a-Child program of the Exchange Club of St Petersburg, Florida.
A special thank you to the Gulf Coast Chapter, the Nature Coast Chapter, the Freedom Chapter, and members of the FSA board for their contributions to these organizations. Keep up the good work!!
